Hit a Home Run

for Adoption!

To date, 493 dogs and cats have been adopted or returned to their owners!

Bottom of the Ninth – Saturday, October 13 – One Day Only

NAME YOUR OWN ADOPTION FEE – What Is Love Worth?

WHAT: It’s the Bottom of the Ninth and bases are loaded as MCHS enters the home stretch and aims for the playoffs with its participation in the ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge! Due to the popularity and success of last month’s special promotion, MCHS’s Home Run Adoption Challenge once again will allow patrons to adopt a cat or dog for a fee they choose themselves. Come meet our line-up on the Cat Team and Dog Team, and take home one of our All-Stars as your newest family member.

Additional activities:
-- Meet and greet several of MCHS’s All-Star “Pit Bull Type” dogs and learn more about the great pets they make
-- Purrfect Pairs for cat adoptions
-- Free samples of Rachael Ray’s Nutrish dog food to the first 100 patrons

WHEN: Noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13

WHERE: Montgomery County Humane Society, 14645 Rothgeb Drive, Rockville, MD 20850

WHO: Prospective dog and cat adopters, and the Montgomery County Humane Society

COST: Whatever fee adopters wish to pay, plus the County license fee required for Montgomery County residents.

WHY: Pet lovers who adopt a dog or cat this year through October 31, when the Challenge ends, will not only give a loving home to a homeless pet, they will ultimately help MCHS save more lives.

Shelters are being challenged to adopt out at least 300 more dogs and cats this year than the same three months last year, and it will take a concerted effort by both MCHS regulars and the community at large to make it happen. Every adoption is a Home Run, and every adopter is an MVP! Watch your email, our Facebook page and follow our Twitter for ways you can help.

WANT TO ADOPT? HERE’S WHAT TO BRING

Prospective adopters should come prepared. Here’s a list of what to bring with you and what to expect:

-- Please bring a government issued ID and proof of address if your current address is not on your ID.
-- If you rent your home, bring proof of your landlord’s approval to have a pet.
-- Collars, leashes, and cat carriers will be available for purchase, or you may bring your own if you like.
-- The County license fee (for Montgomery County residents) must be paid by check or money order.
-- We encourage you to bring all family members to choose your new pet.
-- You will fill out an adoption application and meet with staff to help ensure a good match.
