Carumba Kitty! The MCHS Private Rescue hosted Cinco de MEOW on Tuesday, May 5, sponsored by Fetch! Pet Care and Whole Pet Central. Despite a few raindrops, more than 60 guests enjoyed margaritas, Mexican munchies, festive music by DJ Jared Rosen of Bialek’s music and adoptable “meow-sters.” Liora Robinson, co-owner of Whole Pet Central, in Rockville, gave tips on feeding your cat for optimum health and wellness. 

Over $1,100 was raised for Joey’s Friends’ Fund to help special needs animals and victims of cruelty and neglect receive needed medical care. Cinco de MEOW was rated in the top 8 of May 5 celebrations by Washingtonian.com and featured on local community calendars including Metromix, an online entertainment guide partnered with WUSA9. Guests met several special needs animals that evening including Brownie, Kiwi and Binky (who are still up for adoption!).

Cris Bombaugh, president & CEO, welcomed guests and encouraged them to get to know the cats at the rescue. “There are so many wonderful felines here who would just love for you to be their forever families,” she said.
