Events
When MCHS isn’t hosting its own fundraising events, we’re often invited to participate in community events sponsored by other organizations around the county. These are wonderful opportunities to inform animal lovers about the many programs and services we provide as well as offer suggestions on caring for their own pets and information about adopting a shelter or foster pet. Come visit us at these upcoming events: June 8, 10-2 -- Beltway Barks, DC Actors for Animals Adoption event modeled after Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore's wildly successful Broadway Barks in NYC on the Quad at American University, 4400 Massachusetts Ave. NW, Washington July 14, game starts at 7:30 pm -- Bethesda Big Train MCHS is the featured nonprofit and will have adoptable animals before the game at Shirley Povich Field, 10600 Westlake Drive, Bethesda, 301-983-1006 September 12, 11 am-2 pm -- Rock Spring Park Farmers Market in the center of Rock Spring Drive, Fernwood Drive, and Rock Spring Road, Bethesda

Chompers Pet Food Bank A project of AWLMC to help low-income county residents feed their pets. For more information and registration details, check out their website. Felting for Paws Felt animals, baby gifts, cat toys & accessories. 25% of all sales donated to MCHS and other animal welfare organizations. We’re All Different But We’re All Kitty Cats book dreamBIG Press will donate a portion of proceeds from book sales to support humane education programs at MCHS. Learn more about the book on the Kitty Cats’ website. Spay/Neuter Program The MCHS pre-adoption spay-neuter program is funded in part by a grant from the Newman’s Own Foundation.
