“A Very Festive, Joyous and Heartwarming Event…”

The Love Ball, MCHS’s annual gala, was held on November 7 at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda to celebrate the thousands of animals who have found new homes through MCHS this year and thank the many people who have helped give them a chance for a better life— adopters, MCHS employees and volunteers, fosters, and more. Read “Love Notes” from guests about their experiences.

County Executive Ike Leggett and his wife, Catherine were on hand to greet attendees and help celebrate a good year for MCHS. Maryland Senator Rona Kramer also was in attendance, as was Karen McManus, who represented U.S. Congressman Chris Van Hollen.

“This year, the gala was renamed The Love Ball to ensure that all animal lovers feel a part of our success,” said Cris Bombaugh, President & CEO. “MCHS shelters and cares for a wide variety of animals – not only dogs and cats, but rabbits, ferrets, mice, hamsters, chinchillas, cockatiels iguanas, snakes, fish, goats, chickens, pigs, roosters, peacocks, and many, many more. The people who love these animals are all part of our caring community.”
