Our Foster Care
Program:
Rescue
without Walls
It is only through your willingness to open your hearts and your homes that we are able to give an animal a second chance in life
|
The Montgomery County Humane Society has an outstanding Foster Program that is responsible for hundreds of additional animals being adopted each year from the Montgomery County Animal Shelter. We call it our Rescue without Walls.
But we can't do it alone. MCHS depends on kind and caring people who are willing to share their busy lives and are willing to temporarily open their hearts and homes to our homeless animals.
It is only through our foster parents' generosity that we are able to find loving homes and give a foster animal a second chance in life.

Interested in Becoming a Foster Volunteer?
Here's How the Foster Program Works
• You provide a temporary, loving home along with socialization, food, litter and other supplies.
• You choose the type of animal you would like to foster. We will help you pick the specific pet.
• You are invited to attend MCHS adoption events.
• MCHS pays for basic shots and for the foster's spay/neuter.
• MCHS will put your foster pet's photo and information on our website.
Foster homes are needed for all types of animals from dogs and cats to rabbits, guinea pigs, other small mammals, birds and reptiles.
